Preview links for drafts
Rekhu Builder 0.9.46 makes links that show a draft to anyone who has them, without a WordPress login, so a client can review a change before it goes live. A change written into a setting an element does not have is now refused instead of silently lost.
A client who opened the preview of a draft got a "page not found". WordPress's own preview address works only for people signed in to the site with the right to edit. Everyone else, the client included, gets the theme's 404 page.
A link that shows the draft
From 0.9.46, Rekhu Builder makes a preview link for a draft:
- Anyone who has the link sees the draft, without signing in to WordPress.
- The link works for 7 days by default, at most 30, and can be withdrawn at any time.
- The page stays a draft. Search engines are told not to index it, and page caches never keep it.
- Only a fingerprint of the link's key is stored on the site, so the key itself cannot be read back from the site's data.
In a client's chat, Rekhu Builder now always gives this link when it shows a draft. Ask for one yourself whenever you want someone outside WordPress to look at a page: "make a preview link for the new services page".
A change that cannot get lost
Elementor ignores a setting an element does not have. A heading keeps its text under title, so a new text written under another name never showed, while the answer said it was done. Changes like that are now refused, and the reply names the settings the element does have, so the change lands where it shows.
