rekhu

Rekhu for Laravel · preview

Rekhu knows Laravel. And your running app.

Install one Composer package and add a key. The agent in your Rekhu account then reads the app as it runs, fixes what breaks on a git branch with a test, and keeps an eye on the live site. Laravel 11, 12 and 13.

In preview: switch it on under Products in your account. The packages come to Packagist with version 1.0.

# in your app

$ composer require rekhu/laravel-dev

$ php artisan rekhu:install

Connected. The agent has 24 tools for this app.

Environment: local · writes: branch · connection: relay

$ composer run dev

server · queue · logs · vite · rekhu

# then, in the project chat

“/report returns a 500. Find out why, fix it, add a test.”

Fixed on branch rekhu/d54f2e8f · 3 tests pass

Rekhu Builder for Laravel

For the developer: a hosted agent connected to the app itself, not only to its repository. It reads, it builds on a branch, it checks, and it watches the live site. It also builds Rekhu Assistant into the app for you.

Rekhu Assistant

For your own customers: a custom assistant inside your app that answers from your help, opens the right page and does the job through the routes you mark with #[Tool], as the signed-in user, so your validation and policies decide. Usage is kept per customer, so you can bill them for it.

What the agent does

Reads it, changes it, watches it

Reads the running app

  • Routes with middleware and form requests
  • Models, casts and relations
  • Database schema and read-only queries
  • Config with every secret masked
  • Logs, failed jobs and the scheduler
  • Packages and known security advisories

Changes it, safely

  • Writes and changes code on a git branch of its own
  • Scaffolds with make:*, runs migrations after a preview
  • Runs your tests and reads the failures
  • Requires or updates a package when you say yes
  • Undo per run: back to the branch you started from
  • Never .env, never vendor/, never migrate:fresh

Watches the live app

  • Errors and failed jobs, grouped with their cause
  • Uptime, speed and Core Web Vitals
  • SEO of the public pages
  • Security advisories and outdated packages
  • A check after every change
  • A monthly report for your client

Watching the live app is part of version 1.0 and is being built now; reading and changing work in the preview today.

How it connects

On your laptop as well as in production

A public app is called directly over HTTPS, with every call signed by the app's own secret. An app on your laptop, in Docker or behind a firewall uses the relay: php artisan rekhu:listen keeps one outgoing connection open and collects the agent's calls. Nothing to open inbound, no tunnel. On Laravel 13 it starts with composer run dev on its own.

One key per environment, all in the same project: build on local, check on staging, read production.

Safe by default

You decide what it may change

  • Local: writes go to a git branch of their own, one commit per change
  • Production: read only until you switch writing on
  • Staging and production: every destructive step waits for your yes
  • A syntax check after every PHP file it writes
  • Undo per run, from the chat or with php artisan rekhu:rollback
  • .env is never read; config secrets are masked

Laravel versions

11, 12 and 13

LaravelPHPRekhu BuilderRekhu Assistant
13PHP 8.3+EverythingEverything
12PHP 8.2+EverythingEverything
11PHP 8.2+EverythingUp to 0.2; upgrade to 12 for newer versions

Laravel 11 no longer gets security fixes, so new versions of Rekhu Assistant need Laravel 12 or 13. Rekhu Builder works on all three and can upgrade an older app on a branch.

Next to Laravel's own tools

Built on them, not instead of them

  • Laravel Boost helps a coding agent on your laptop. Rekhu is hosted and connected to the running app, production included.
  • Nightwatch reports errors. Rekhu also finds the cause and fixes it on a branch with a test.
  • The AI SDK and MCP packages are building blocks. Rekhu Assistant is a finished assistant, with a page map, confirmations, and usage per customer you can bill.

Try it on one app.

Create an account, switch on Rekhu Builder for Laravel under Products, add your app and install the package.
