Rekhu Builder and Rekhu Assistant on Odoo 20

Rekhu Builder 1.0.6 and Rekhu Assistant 1.0.3 work on Odoo 20 as well as 17, 18 and 19. The builder knows what Odoo 20 changed, such as access rights in ir.access, and builds new modules the Odoo 20 way.

Odoo 20 is here, and Rekhu Builder 1.0.6 and Rekhu Assistant 1.0.3 run on it, next to Odoo 17, 18 and 19. Both pass their full test suites on all four versions.

What Odoo 20 changed, and what the builder now knows

Odoo 20 moves access rights into a new model, ir.access: one row per group with the operations as a part of crud (create, read, update, delete) and an optional domain in the same row, where earlier versions had ir.model.access and separate record rules. Settings are read and written with typed methods (get_str, set_str and their siblings), and a contact counts as a company when it has a VAT number.

Rekhu Builder reads the Odoo version of your database before it writes anything. On Odoo 20 it writes security/ir.access.csv in the new form, checks it before an install, and shows a model's ir.access rows when you ask who may do what. On 17, 18 and 19 nothing changes: it keeps writing ir.model.access.csv and record rules.

Also in this release

  • The builder's SQL reading tool takes queries with a % in them, such as LIKE '16%', which it refused before.
  • The builder knows how to move a company's bookkeeping into Odoo from SnelStart, Exact, Twinfield, AFAS and other packages; see the article about it.

Where it runs

Both are Odoo modules: on your own server or on Odoo.sh, with Community or Enterprise. They do not run on Odoo Online, which takes no modules of its own or from the Apps store. Read more on the Rekhu for Odoo page.
