An SEO plan for every site
The SEO tab now runs a plan the way a specialist works: where the site stands, its competitors, the gap, a keyword map checked against Google's own results, one page per topic, briefs from the first ten, internal links, backlink prospects, AI answers and weekly tracking. Agency and client work on the same plan.
The SEO tab of a WordPress project now has an SEO plan. It goes through the steps an SEO specialist takes, using Google's own data, and ends in pages and articles that each target their own searches.
| Step | What it does |
|---|---|
| The business | The services and places the site serves, and its markets: a country and language each, or a city within one |
| Where you stand | The searches Google ranks the site for now, with the position and the page |
| Competitors | The sites that rank for the same searches; you confirm three to five |
| The gap | The searches those competitors win and the site does not |
| Keyword map | Ideas grown from the services and places, with monthly searches, difficulty and intent, compared on Google's own results |
| The plan | Every search grouped into topics; each topic is one page (a service or a place) or one article (a question) |
| Writing | Every brief starts from the first ten on Google |
| Internal links | Live pages of the plan link to each other, and every link is checked on the page |
| Backlinks | The sites that link to your competitors and not to you, as a contact list |
| AI answers | Whether Google's AI Overview cites the site for its searches, and whether ChatGPT names it |
| Tracking | Every planned search checked in Google every week, with the change since the last round and its clicks |
One page per search. Where the site already ranks for a topic, that page claims it and gets improved instead of a new one being made. Searches at positions 6 to 30 are marked as quick wins. If someone starts an article or page for a search that another page owns, it is stopped, and the message names the page to improve instead.
Google decides what belongs together. Compare reads Google's first ten results for the biggest searches. Two searches that share four or more of those results are answered by one page, however different their words. Two that share two or fewer get a page each, however alike they sound. When two topics of the plan turn out to compete, the plan says so and merges them in one click.
Briefs from the first ten. Write the article or Make the page starts it under Articles and pages. Before the brief is written, the pages ranking now are read: their length, the headings most of them share, the words they use, the questions people also ask, and whether Google shows a featured snippet, and in what form. The brief lists the questions the article will answer, and the first ten sit beside it for whoever approves it.
Internal links that are really there. When a page of the plan goes live, links are suggested between it and its neighbours:
- an article links to its service or place page, and that page links back;
- pages for one service in different places link to each other.
Add the links has Rekhu Builder put them into the live pages without touching anything else. Each link is then looked for on the page. One that was skipped comes back with the reason.
Backlinks as a contact list. Sites that link to more of your confirmed competitors are listed first. Mark each one as contacted or linking now, and keep a note.
Seen by AI answers. For the planned searches, the plan shows whether Google answers with an AI Overview, whether that overview cites the site, and which sites it cites instead. ChatGPT, searching the web, is asked the biggest ten searches.
Cities as markets. A market can be one city: positions, the first ten and AI answers are then read as people there see them, while monthly search figures stay the country's. A new plan starts with the account's country filled in, ready to save or change.
Tracking with clicks. Every planned search is checked weekly by default, or every two or four weeks, or off. When Google Search Console is connected, each search also shows its clicks over the last 28 days, next to how many planned searches are on page one and how many moved up or down. A search that falls five places or more is flagged for a refresh of its page.
One plan for you and your client. Both can run research, and each pays for their own from their credit or wallet. What a client finds arrives as a suggestion for you to approve. Give a client the new right Manage the SEO plan under Clients and they decide the plan themselves: markets, competitors, topics and tracking. Adding links to live pages also needs Change existing live pages.
What it costs. Research, tracking and AI answers read Google's data per request and are charged from credit at the account's prices, like model calls. A full research for one site comes to a few dollars, and a week of tracking to cents. Adding internal links is a Rekhu Builder run, metered like a chat message.
