3 changes- Backups and restores work in steps of about 25 seconds, so a large site on a shared host is no longer cut off halfway. Each step writes exactly where it stands and starts the next; a step the host ends is done again from there. The database is written table by table, the files go into zip volumes of about 200 MB (pictures, videos and archives stored as they are, which is much faster), and the copy to the account goes on from the last part sent.
- A restore works in steps too, with its progress kept in files beside the backups rather than in the database it is replacing, and it never pauses inside the options table, without which WordPress cannot start.
- A backup that was cut off by the host under 0.9.42 is marked as stopped, so a new one can start.
